Objective: 

1.      To create dress library for effective designing.

2.      To enhance the creative skill of fashion illustration

3.       Application of rendering techniques using different mediums.

Unit I: 
Course Content:
  • Introduction to 8 head theory                                                                                                      01 hrs                                                                               
  • Ideal body proportion                                                                                                      01 hrs
  • Drawing stick figures (male and female)                                                                         07 hrs                               
  • Drawing of block figure – 8 ½, 10 ½ & 12½  (male and female)                                20 hrs                                    
  • Drawing fashion figures (male and female) with different poses            (Front, back, side)      
  • Stylization of Poses of Fashion figures (male and female)                                             03 hrs   
  • Dividing the body into various parts using lines-                                                          06 hrs
    • Female body-Base of neck, pit of neck, shoulder line, armhole, armpit, bust Line, Waist line, side seam, princess seam & panty line.
    • Male body- Base of neck, pit of neck, armhole, armpit, shoulder line, middle of chest & waist line.    
  • Drawing the head for Male & Female                                                                              06 hrs
    • Face- Front, Profile, Diagonal, Eyes & Eyebrows, Noses, Ears and Lips
  • Drawing Arms, Hands, Legs and feet                                                                            03 hrs
  • Rendering and application of colors with various medium for both male & female (Ink,       Pencil & Pencil Colors, Pastels, Markers & Pens, Water & Poster Colors, Charcoal)    09 hrs

    • Pockets, Necklines & Collars
    • Sleeves & sleeve finishes
    • Darts, Gathers, Pleats, Yokes
    • Frills, Ruffles, Cowls, Smoking, Quilting & Shirring
    • Skirts- Skirt lengths (Micro Mini, Mini, Tea & Maxi)
    • Pants- Pants length (Shorts, Jamaica, Bermudas, Walking shorts, Capri, Regular & stretch pants
    • Blouses & tops, Shirts & Blazers, Jackets, Coats
    • Lace, Shirring, Frills & Flounces, Tucks, Bows, Hemlines, Fringing, Belts
  • Drawing of bags, purses, belts, hats                                                                                  09 hrs
  • Designing apparel using Elements and Principles of Designs for male and female garments

  • Knitted: Herringbone, Tweed, Jersey, Rib          
  • Printed: Stripes, Check & Plaid, Dots, Floral, Geometrical
  • Others: Leather, Lace
