Objective: 
  • To acquaint students with the techniques of flat pattern making.
  • To introduce students to the concepts of draping.

  • Pattern Making:                                                                                 14 hrs
  • Introduction of pattern making: Drafting, Flat  Pattern and Draping
  • Drafting of basic Bodice, Skirt, Sleeve and Trouser block                                               
  • Pattern Making:                                                                                 14 hrs
  • Introduction of pattern making: Drafting, Flat  Pattern and Draping
  • Drafting of basic Bodice, Skirt, Sleeve and Trouser block                                      
  • Flat pattern design on bodice block through                              26 hrs
  • Dart manipulation: Moving, Dividing and combining darts by pivot & slash and spread
  • Converting dart into: Seam lines, Gathers, Pleats, Tucks, and Yokes
  • Skirt dart manipulation                                                                     14 hrs
  • Moving basic dart by slash and pivot method
  • Decorative darts
  • Darts, tucks and pleats
  • Converting dart to flare
  • Style lines and yokes
  • Introduction to Grading                                                                     24 hrs
  • Terminology
  • Methods of grading- Tracks and Stack Method
  • Grading children & women basic bodice, sleeve and skirt blocks to various sizes
  • Preparing pattern and grading of one torso design
  • Preparing two samples of dart manipulation one for bodice and one skirt                                                                                                       12 hrs
