Objective: 
  1. To understand the construction of weaving  processes of decorative weaves.
  2. To understand the mechanism of dobby and jacquard.

  • Decorative weaves :Fancy twills; diamonds; and diaper designs; large diagonals; shaded twills; diagonals on satin bases; figured twills; construction of diamond design, construction of diaper designs

  • Decorative weaves:

Further extension - hopsack weave; crepe; honey comb (ordinary & brighton); huck-a-back; mockleno; distorted thread  effects simple spot designs.

  • Stripe and check weave combination:

        Colour and weave effects:

  • Construction of line effects
  • Hound’s tooth pattern
  • Bird’s eye & spot effects
  • Hairline effects
  • Stepped pattern

  • Special rib and cord structure:
  • Construction of cork screw weaves; bed ford cords-plain, face, wadded
  • Backed cloth: Warp backed cloth; weft backed cloth; backed cloth with wadding threads;
  • Warp and weft wadded cloths; reversible backed cloths
  • Double cloth
