1. To create awareness regarding current trends, issues and researches related to various aspects of Fashion, Textiles and Apparel.

The students will be able to –

CO 37Identify and understand current trends/ process /technical changes in the field of Fashion, Textiles and Apparel

CO 38Explore the current and emerging issues in field of Fashion, Textiles and Apparel

CO 39Prepare systematic report on a selected topic

CO 40Improve oral and written communication

CO 41 Developdesign according to the history of designers creations

CO 42 Interpret design for the latest trends

Approach in teaching: Interactive discussion, power-point presentation, guest lectures

 

Learning Activities for the students: Report writing and presentation through chart, poster and presentation

Assessment task will include Class test, Semester end examinations,

student’s presentations and assignments.

 

Assessment task require students to present work in progress for weekly

feedback and

constructive

criticism.

 

 

 

 

 

Unit I: 
GUIDELINES
  • Students will prepare a report and present a seminar along with PowerPoint on the selected topic.

Current and Emerging issues in different areas (Anyone):

  • Apparel Merchandising: Marketing, Management, Retailing, and Branding
  • Garment Construction: Production, Fashion, Textile and Designing

The report should focus on in-depth study for the following heads:

  1. Title
  2. Introduction
  3. Current & Emerging issues
  4. SWOT analysis (Brief)
  5. Summary
  6. Conclusion
  7. References

The report should be approved by the mentor.

II.Appreciation of any Two Indian Fashion Designers-

  • Collecting brief history of their career, famous collections and participation in fashion shows.
