Objective: 

To enable the students to obtain perfect fit and harmony between the fabric & design of the garment.

 

Unit I: 
Course Content:

Pattern development through draping:                                               35 Hrs   

  • Design variation
  • Draping
  • Basic Bodice:  

Manipulating dart excess at different locations

Dividing dart excess- Waist & side seam, waist & shoulder

Dart equivalents – Gathers, pleats and tuck darts

Incorporating dart equivalence: gather pleat, dart tucks & control seam

Asymmetrical darts

Princess line

 

  • Skirt:                                                                                              25 Hrs

Stylized yoke with flare, gathers & pleats

Peplons & Godets

 

  • Grading Techniques:

                  Introduction to grading & its importance                                 60 hrs.

                  Introduction to different methods: Track & Stag method.

                  Front Bodice

                  Sleeve Block

                  Skirt Block (front)

                  Skirt Block (Back)

                  Trouser Block
