  1. To impart the knowledge to develop designs skills for creating aesthetically good design.
  2. Use & application of design elements like Lines, Shapes, Texture & color to form a good design.

Course Content:

Elements of Design:

  • Line- types of line, development of a composition using various types of lines                                                                                              10 hrs
  • Shapes and Forms- Creating different shapes and forms through various lines                                                                                10 hrs
  • Drawing Color wheel that includes Primary, Secondary & Tertiary colors.                                                                                            06 hrs

  • Intensity Scale
  • Gray Scale
  • Illustrate the colour schemes with their suitable media in designs: (colour schemes will be rendered in 6”x 6” block.)                                                                                           10 hrs

  • Types of Repeats -  Plain, Vertical, Horizontal, Diagonal, Half drop/ drop repeat                                                                                                14 hrs
  • Creating design sheets using the following repeats :            14 hrs

  • Mirror Image
  • Jaal
  • All Over
  • Layouts of design to form a pattern:  Border, corner, center, Free flowing, Stripes and checks                                                                          12 hrs

 

  • Interpreting different textures from surrounding on various textile materials using different techniques like crushing, dying, wax effects, colors, etc so as to relate them to certain expression.             14 hrs                                                                                                                                                                                                              
  • Students will trace the textures on paper and will interpret the same for creating Fabric texture using    various raw materials and techniques like crushing, dying, wax effects, Color etc. and relating the textures to certain expressions
