Advanced Fashion Illustration (Practical)
This course prepares students for a career in fashion illustration and related fields by exploring a wide range of traditional and contemporary approaches to drawing and image creation. It also helps students develop drawing skills, experiment with different mediums, and learn various illustration and visual communication techniques.

CO 58 Design and develop garment details, rendering techniques and colour mediums by implying style reading techniques on fashion sketches. CO 59 Plan and create male/female apparel on the theme based designing for the fashion design portfolio. CO 60 Compile comprehensive practical record and submission through illustration and CO 61 Cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners. CO 62 Contribute effective in course specific interaction.

Assessment task will include Class test, Semester end examinations, student’s presentations and assignments.

I: Illustrating garment & garment details with flat sketches (any five) (12 Hours)
- Tops
- Skirts
- Trousers
- Jackets
- Dresses
- Evening Gowns
II: Figure analysis (26 Hours)
- Drawing of block and stick figure – 8 ½, 10 ½ & 12½ (male and female)
- Fleshing of 8 ½, 10 ½ & 12½ (male and female figures)
- Drawing fashion figures (male and female) with different poses (Front, back, side, S, T, X Pose)stick-figure
III: Style reading for various types of garments (26 Hours)
- Illustrating garments on flesh figures
- Rendering
- Style reading
IV: Portfolio Development (26 Hours)
Designing male and female apparel for Pret- a-porter (Casual or Formal) and Haute couture (Bridal or Red Carpet) categories. Students will prepare the following boards based on anyone theme including:
- Inspiration board
- Mood board
- Design boards (4 rendered designs for each category)
- Swatch boards
- Colour board
