An integral part of fashion design is acquiring rendering skills that makes the design to present ideas in the most appropriate and effective way through the foundation of drawing and sketching.
To enable students to develop drawing skills required for designing through line and shading exercises.
To acquire knowledge of nature study and develop an eye to extract forms, prints and textures from nature to create a base for understanding designs.
Student will gain the skills of different dimensions and the feeling of actually existing object in space through perspective.
To enhance the creative skill of drawing.
Application of rendering techniques using different mediums.
Unit I:
Course Content:
Basic line and shading exercise 20 hrs
Lines and shading exercises using various pencil and color mediums such as –
Grade pencils, color pencils, poster or water color, charcoal
Nature Study (Nature in form, nature in print, nature in texture) 20 hrs
Sketching of natural forms from nature like flowers, leaves, branches, plants, etc.
Conversion of natural forms into design forms.
Copying various textures from nature.
Introduction to perspective 15 hrs
One point perspective
Two point perspective
Three point perspective
Object Drawing 15 hrs
Drawing of 3-D geometrical shapes in different angles such as cube, pyramid, cuboids, and cylindrical forms.
Drawing man-made objects in different angles such as bottles, sharpeners, glass, pencil, pen, etc.
Technical Drawing 20 hrs
Study of various geometrical constructions such as drawing of 2-D and 3-D forms by Orthographic and Isometric projections.
Inter conversion of 3-D and 2-D views of the object.
