Objective: 

To familiarize with various furnishing fabrics

To learn about trends in Home Furnishing

       To learn to decorate antique & exotic fabric to make a house warm & lively

Unit I: 
Course Content:

Market Survey:                                                                                         20 hrs.

 

  • Prepare the scrap book of the following types of textiles.
  • Survey to include different markets, brands and price ranges.
Design Concept of the following types of textiles                               90 hrs.
  • Inspirations
  • Design development
  • The design should commensurate with related article
  • Preparation of portfolio

                                                                                                                      

Bath linen-                                                                                                       

 

  • Towels (sizes, pile types and non pile types)
  • Bath mats, shower curtains, shower caps.
  • Draperies & Upholstery

 

Table linen-                                                                                                   

 

  • Table cloths, mats, napkins, runners
  • Bed linen-bed sheets, pillowslips, bedcovers, quilts, throws and cushion

 

 

Construct with application of value addition of any one the home furnishing items                                                                                   10 hrs.

 

 

 

Presentation and submission of the survey in form of document- text and visual material such as photographs, catalogues and samples etc
