Objective: 

This course will enable the students to -

  1. Understand concept of design for developing a home furnishing product.
  2. Develop different type of home textiles using combination of various surface embellishment techniques
  3. Implement the student creativeness in designing the home textiles
Course Outcomes: 

CO.112 Explore market to develop design sheets based on themes with the latest trends in the home textiles market.

CO.113 Develop the products incorporating the latest trends using various structural and decorative techniques.

CO.114 Compile comprehensive practical record and submission related various designs in home textiles

CO.115 Cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners.

CO.116 Contribute effectively course-specific interaction

CONTENTS

 

  • Exploration of various techniques for home textiles:                                            
  • Inspiration Market Research
  • Theme Board & Mood Board (Self clicked pictures for both the boards)
  • Colour Board (manual colour palette)
  • Fabric and Trim Board
  • Design specification sheet

(Students are required to make the above boards and design sheet based on the selected theme which will be used for making the final products)

  • Develop below mention home textile products and design sheet using structural and decorative techniques according to the selected theme:

  • Bedsheet with Pillow Cover
  • Cushion Covers
  • Curtains
  • Dining Table Set (Runner, Table Nakin, Table mats)
  • Kitchen Textile (Mitten, Apron, Chapati Cover)
