Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, PowerPoint Presentations, Informative videos and demonstration.

 

Learning activities for the students:   Self-learning assignments, and development of products.

Assessment tasks will include Class Test on the given topics, lab work, record book assessment,

Viva-voce, Attendance Assignment

 

CONTENT:

I: Conduct a market survey for home furnishing in terms of present trends, style details, colours, fabrics, trims, sizes and price and create the scrapbook.            (12 Hours)               

II. Illustrate at least 6-6 design patterns with motifs layout and colour combination etc. for the following home furnishing articles:                                               (42 Hours)             

  • Bedspread with Pillow Covers
  • Cushion Covers
  • Table Covers / Table Runners
  • Curtain
  • Wall Panel
  • Kitchen linen- Apron, gloves

Construct a line of selected design in each category for home furnishing with application of value addition such as quilting/patchwork/embroidery/tie-dye/block printing/ stencil printing /hand painting.

III. Preparation of cost sheets of developed Products.             (6 Hours)
