Objective: 

1. To impart in-depth knowledge of pattern making and garment construction techniques.

2. To develop and understand the principles of pattern making through flat pattern.

 

Unit I: 
Course Content:
  • Identifying the landmarks and taking body measurements                                           02 hrs                    
  • Introduction to various methods of Pattern Making and its importance

  • Drafting,
  • Flat pattern
  • Draping
  • Introduction to basic tools used in pattern making and sewing techniques                  08 hrs

                                                                                                                                              

  • Drafting of child’s bodice block , skirt block and sleeves block                               10 hrs
  • Drafting and adaptation of following:                                                                      20 hrs
  • Skirt - A-line, Gathered and Umbrella                                                      
  • Sleeves – Puff, Bell, Flared, Petal and Cap                                          
  • Collars – Peter-pan (Flat, Raised) cape collar and Convertible             

 

·Designing, Pattern Making & Construction of one of each garment with value addition:                                                                                                                                          40 hrs
