Activity: Competition on “Eco Ensemble”

Department of Fashion & Textiles celebrated “Khadi Day” on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Ji at Clothing Lab, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. This day was started with brief description given by Dr. Radha Kashyap, HOD & Professor, Department of Fashion & Textiles about the positive aspects of using Khadi fabric and sustainability initiatives. Theme of the competition was Eco Ensemble where in students have developed different products like accessories, handbags, footwear etc.  using waste material.

In all there were 50 students from B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester – I, III & V and M.A./M.Com/ M.Sc. Fashion Design Semester – I & III students participated in groups. Students were asked to bring waste material and to develop a productive article using the same material. In total 16 teams participated.

Groups were judged on the criteria of their skill and innovation to make the best out of already existing waste.
