Objective

The primary goal of this activity was to provide students with hands-on exposure to exhibition practices. Through direct interaction with artisans, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders, students gained valuable insights into handcrafted textiles, handloom products, jewelry, and sustainable design innovations. Additionally, the exhibition served as a promotional platform for the Department of Fashion & Textiles by showcasing its courses and encouraging future admissions.

Description

The Department of Fashion & Textiles actively participated in the renowned "Colors of Fusion" exhibition, held under the banner of the Bhishm Livelihood Training Council (BLTC). This five-day event celebrated artisanal craftsmanship, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The exhibition featured vibrant stalls displaying a wide range of handmade products such as textiles, jewelry, handloom crafts, and sustainable designs.

The department's stall stood out with its curated collection of handcrafted items.

  • Decorative mats
  • Wall hangings
  • Innovative jewelry designs
  • Garments crafted from repurposed old sarees
  • Handloom garments
  • Upcycled Handloom Fabrics
  • Design sheets and Paintings

These displays demonstrated the department’s commitment to preserving traditional techniques while integrating contemporary design elements. Students work were showcased for the visitors, about sustainable design and creative processes. Many attendees expressed interest in the products and samples developed by the students. By incorporating interactive display and product, samples left a lasting impression on the visitors.
