Fashion Show-‘CREATIONS 20’

Department of Fashion & Textiles had organised its 11th Annual Fashion Show “CREATIONS-2020” on 22nd January 2020 at IIS University Campus, Jaipur. The fashion show was an initiative to provide a platform for the emerging designers and models.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Jagdeesh Chandra, CMS First India News and Guest of Honour was Mr. Gaurav Jai Gupta, Fashion Designer, AKAARO, New Delhi.
The panel of judges for the show were:
1. Ms. Mamta Mansingka, Founder, KILOL Fabrics, Jaipur
2. Ms. Ritu Kedia, Fashion Designer, Jaipur
In all there were 35 designers, 50 models and 10 dancers. The choreography and music was given by Mr. David. In order to groom the girls, 15 days training for modelling was conducted. Each round was mentored by the faculty of the Department of Fashion & Textiles. For the final show, the colour board, mood board, theme board, story board, swatch board and working pictures of how they developed the entire collection were displayed through power point presentation by the designers for their respective rounds.
A total of 11 rounds were showcased in the show, which were created by the students of Department of Fashion & Textiles.
The themes of the rounds were as follows:
Of all the rainbow colours, one knew this one’s between violet and blue. Deep and rich, a bit towards azure it’s sustainable fashion, for sure. Indigo rules and how! The collection comprising pants, tops and skirts, crafted from cotton-dyed fabrics, tells a scintillating story of fashion clothing done right.
Old drapes get a whole new avataar in this reflective collection which draws inspiration from the four gates of the City Palace in Jaipur. Stately spirit gets transformed in silks, crepes and nets in tints of green, blue, brown and pink, adorned with embroidery and gota work to recreate the regal splendour of the past.
Freedom would not be to choose between black and white, but to adjure such a prescribed choice. Quintessentially opposite in a cultural and visual sense, this formal wear collection in black and white is a rage. Chic trousers, skirts with nifty tops and jackets in stripes and animal prints are sure to give the dull and boring board-room dressing a bold and sassy makeover.
At the core of it all is nothing but the heart, One that understands the timeless appeal of the alluring mosaic art. A re-fashioning of denim gives way to realizing the designer’s dream. Paired with tulle and bespangled with mosaic art, this dainty collection is sure to win the hearts of hard-core denim lovers.
Coming straight from the majestic land of Rajasthan, asymmetrical ‘street wear’ in Khaddar is festooned with motifs, embroidery, appliqué, patchwork, beads and tassels, to create a bespoke look that promises to be an affair to remember.
Reminiscent of a time gone by yet contemporary and very with it, this collection in tie and dye lends a charm that’s quintessential to fusion wear. The choice of regal fabrics in quirky tints and geometrical patterns works well to give us a classic amalgamation of the timeless old and the trendy new.
Shibori art gets imprinted in silk using natural tints of warm green, pigmented yellow and raw clay in western easy-going ensembles. The essence is that of the yesteryears coming to life in the here and now. An oompfy blend of the traditional and the modern, the outfits will surely be the go-to ones for the upmarket fashionista.
Invoking Lord Jagannath and drawing inspiration from Him, this opulent collection in taffeta, glace cotton, georgette and net uses metaphoric tones of yellow and white with well-crafted hand-painted temple motifs to express well-being and joy, in the celebration of divinity.
Amid the cheerful dayspring light, The Aurora glows, oh so bright. This dazzling formal wear collection uses interplay of lustrous colours, both inky and neon. The culture and festivity speak loud in shades of green, red and mustard-yellow, using silks and nets, matched with splendid accessories that spell artistic fusion.
The fashion show provides a platform to the young designers to showcase their creativity and to give an exposure to the fashion world. There were three awards i.e., Urban Luxe Award, Ingenious Collection and Special Jury Award. Awards in following categories were given to:
