Summary of the Guest Lecture:

Department of Fashion & Textile Technology had organised a Guest Lecture on the topic “E-Commerce for Fashion and Counterfeit Textiles” on 8th August 2015. The resource person for the lecture was Ms. Gauri Kathju, Course Leader, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Jaipur. The students were aquainted with the knowledge on how the online retailing works, how to place orders, the schemes available at various websites and how the discounts actually work. Students shared their personal experience of online shopping and the problems faced during the process. The speaker also focused on the Counterfeit Textiles i.e. how some websites are supplying the replicas of branded products in name of original brand and cheating the mass. The guest lecture was an interactive session between the speaker and the students of BFT V Sem, MFT I & III Sem and it was very informative and students could relate to it as they are experiencing it on a very frequent basis.
