Objective: The objective of the programme was to familiarize the students with the course structure, examination scheme, assessment and evaluation, programme objectives, department activities, library system, and best practices of the department.
Summary/ Description:
The Department of Fashion & Textiles organized an orientation programme for the students of COSD Fashion Designing (Certificate) on August 24, 2023, in the Clothing Lab. The programme aimed to bridge the gap between students and faculties. Dr. Vipin Kumari coordinated the COSD orientation programme 2023 and welcomed the students. The following are the details of the programme:
Dr. Sulekha Ojha, Head, Department of Fashion and Textiles welcomed the students. Dr. Vipin Kumari briefed the students about the faculty profile, course-wise credits, examination system with reference to continuous assessment (C.A.) and semester end examination (SEE).
She further briefed the students about the programme outcome and learning outcome of the courses and provided the details of the library system, extra-curricular activities like industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, and many cultural events. She shared the best practices of the Department of Fashion & Textiles like fashion show and many more. Dr. Sunetra Datt, Ms Harshita Bhown and Ms Disha thapliyal interacted with the students irrespective to their subjects.
There was a question-answer session, and all queries of the students were answered by Dr. Vipin Kumari.After completion of the orientation, students filled the feedback form. Nine students attended the orientation session of COSD Fashion Designing (Certificate).
Outcome of the Programme: The orientation programme was fruitful for the students as it gave them an insight of overall functioning of the department and they were satisfied with it.
