The Department of Fashion & Textiles had organised a visit to an export house at Jaipur Prints “Vasansi” for all the students of B.Sc fashion Design (Semester III) and M.A/M.Sc./M.Com Fashion Design (Semester I). The main objective behind the visit was to make the students aware about the various activities related to printing, dyeing and embroidery.
Students were exposed to the process of screen printing, block printing, dyeing and embroidery followed by garment production. They were also having water recycling plant in their unit. On the ground floor they were having dyeing and printing unit and on the first floor embroidery and garment production unit was there. They manufacture ethnic women’s wear such as kurta, long dresses, shrug, lehenga etc.
Students got an opportunity to see the process of machine and hand embroidery; block and screen printing. Overall learning was good interims of understanding the various dyeing, printing and embroidery methods and garment production.
