The Department of Fashion & Textile Technology organized an educational visit to “National Handicrafts and Handloom Expo, on 13 January at Jawahar Kala Kendra, JLN marg, Jaipur. Around 20 students of Diploma & Advance Diploma accompanied Ms. Aman Deep Kaur, Asst. Professor and Mr. Tulsi Ram Koli, Technical Assistant to the Exhibition.
With the approaching festive season, artisans from different states of the country like Bihar, Karnataka, Tripura, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan gathered at the auditorium to display their rich traditional crafts like:
Exhibition aimed to revenue generation to the artisans of craftsmen through the sale of varieties of shawls, stoles, sarees & dress materials, Handicraft items directly from manufacturers to the consumers.
A large Varity of shawls, suits, sarees, jewelry, carpets & Handicraft items collections were seen in vibrant colors and materials.
Students from department explored the variety of handloom & Handicraft products that were shown under one roof with great enthusiasm. The visit was very fruitful for the students as it enhanced their knowledge on traditional as well modernized products of today’s handloom & Handi craft industry by physically observing the products & were able to co- relate with their theoretical knowledge.
