Objective of the visit:

 The main objective behind the visit was to make the students aware of the production process from concept to final product. The students gained knowledge about different types of knitted fabrics, textile dyeing, and printing.

 

Summary/Description

Department of Fashion & Textiles had organized an industrial visit toS.K Enterprises, Sitapura, and Digamber Fabrics, Sanganer, Jaipur ” for the students of M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Fashion Design Semester I, and III, B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester V on Saturday 4th December 2021.

Mr. Suresh, Marketing Manager at S.K Enterprises, took the initiative and briefed everyone on the knitting process for knitted fabric and garments. They were introduced to different knitting machines, like double bed knitting machines, jacquard knitting fabric machines, and also the finishing department. They also explain how double-bed knitting machines work with multiple colours of yarn and how they developed the small-to-small multiple colour panels of the garment.

 

In the other industry visit, students learned about the flat screen, automatic flat screen printing, and dyeing. Digamber Fabric Pvt. Ltd. is a leading manufacturer and wholesale exporter of screen-printed fabric.The visit to the textile unit was a great exposure for the students in terms of learning about advanced technologies in the field of fabric dyeing and printing.

Students were guided by Ms. Priyanka Pareek, who instructed the students about the various steps involved in the manufacturing of textile goods, starting from the grey fabric to the finished fabric, by showing them the products such as kurties, bed-sheets & dress material etc.

  

Ms. Priyanka Pareek explained to the students the functions and importance of dyeing and printing, and they also explained the different stages of printing like scouring, bleaching, calendaring, printing, curing, washing, drying, and other latest machines used in the printing process.

Outcome of the Visit:

The visit was designed to provide students with firsthand knowledge of the operations of a knitted garment manufacturing unit, dyeing and printing unit, and printing unit. Thirty-three students visited the unit and found the activity highly informative and useful.
