Workshop on Crochet Making

Dept.  of  Fashion & Textiles  was organized a workshop on “CROCHET MAKING” on 23^rd and 24^th of March, 2018 for the students of B.Sc. Fashion Design semester-IV. Crochet is a part of department’s curriculum in skill enhancement course where the students are taught to make articles like mobile covers, table mats, accessories(Jewellery) and apparel like shrug and tops using the crotchet tool with wool or crocheting threads.

The resource person  Ms. Shalini Vijayvargaya ,Textile Designer, Chapoorash Art & Craft, Jaipur. She guided the students to create new accessories and products with crochet. She even presented accessories and apparel so that students are able to understand and identify the concept of crochet. Basic chain , half trouble, full trouble  and ring methods were taught.

Students showed great interest in this activity. They made samples of crochet. She paid personal attention to all the students and she helped them in making the article. Students were able to explore their creativity and imagination beyond the technical skills and theoretical knowledge

This not only helped the students to explore and enhance their creativity but also chisels their brains. Students of Fashion & Textiles  department look forward to such workshops which help them not only in learning new things but also interacting with new people.
