Description:

Department of Fashion & Textiles had organized a Workshop on ‘EOD: Origami’ on 5^th November 2022with the objective of understanding the concept of Elements of Design through origami art. Resource person for the activity was Ms. Aditi Vyas, Assistant Professor, Arch College of Design, she is gold medalist and an alumni of the IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. She discussed about various shape, silhouette, line, colour and texture with reference to its application in Fashion Design.

With the help of presentation, she explained all the component of design in detail with the real time examples. Various folds and techniques were demonstrated by her and the activity was conducted in group, wherein students were able to apply the concept and skill to develop origami structure.

Ms. Aditi also interacted with students and answered their queries for thorough understanding. Overall the session was fruitful for the students.

Outcome of the activity: The students were able to learn about basic techniques of origami art with reference to elements of design which will help for them to create  innovative projects related to apparel and accessories.
