Objective of the activity:To spread the awareness about how to build a Resume which can be used in future.

Description:

Aone-dayseminar was organized by the Department of Fashion &Textiles on 19^th November 2022. The resource person of the seminar was Ms. Prachi Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of English IIS (deemed to be University) Jaipur. The objective of the workshop was to train students to prepare a resume. The session was started with the discussion on the need for a properly drafted resume. She explained the key factors such as can make the resume look impressive to the interviewer like leadership, teamwork etc.She also distinguished between CV and Resume, deliberated how to write the resume, the font style and size, the pros and cons of the resume.

It was also explained by her that the career objective should be stated clearly and simple. The student should be clear about his/her objective to join any industry. She explained that resume must include personal information, education and qualifications, work experience, interests and achievements, skills, and references. Further, she explained that in resume the academic section should in the form ofdata instead of the simple old table format. The email id mentioned in the resume should be in proper format and short forms should be avoided in the resume. She added that covering letter should be impressive and student should write only true facts in the resume and should not make any false statement.

She further explained that theresume should not be more than one page and should havea photograph. She responded to all the questions raised by students. Session was very interactive and also enlightening for the students to writing resume.

Outcome of the activity-The seminar on resume writing made students aware about the various draft. The students understood the importance of preparing resume. They were able to write a resume and presented their resume for applying placements and jobs.
