Report on Workshop

Objective of the activity: To understand the importance of doing systematic literature reviews in the research. To develop understand the process and the systematic literature review through selecting and identifying the relevant literature. Learn also to the online databases and identifying the relevant literature.

Activity description:The department of Fashion & Textiles organized a workshop on systematically literature review .The resource person for this workshop was Dr. Roopam Kothari, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of International Business, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. This workshop was designed to bridge the gap between theory and practical approach adopted by the young academicians in research progression. The workshop was a hands-on training on systematic literature, covering the types of literature review, the journey of systematic literature, the guidelines for analyzing literature and review protocol.She explained the various phases of systemic review such as planning,execution and reporting. Dr. Kothariexplained the PRISMA and how to synthesize the data in systematic way and make a summary of collected data.

The session was interactive and informative and at the end of the session, few questions from the young researcher were taken up by the resource person. The session was attended by 16 students. The zeal and enthusiasm of participants was so high that many of them requested to organize the sequel of this workshop at the end of the session.

Learning outcomes of the activity:

Workshop improved the research skill competence amongst researchers by strengthening their theoretical knowledge as well as by giving them the hands-on training on systematically writing the literature review. Theworkshop sessions turned out to be a very fruitful experience for the students and motivational them in term ofwriting and publishing research papers in the area of "Systematic Literature Review”.
