The students will be able to

CO147.Analyze the various types of material, fabric and trim for the home furnishing.

CO148. Demonstrate the various construction techniques of home furnishings.

CO149.Perform visual research for application of elements in the context of traditional textiles.

CO150.Construct home furnishing products with application of value addition.

CONTENT:

I: Conduct a market survey for home furnishing in terms of present trends, style details, colours, fabrics, trims, sizes and price and create the scrapbook.                                                                                     12 hrs.

II. Illustrate at least 6-6 design patterns with motifs layout and colour combination etc. for the following home furnishing articles:   42 hrs.              

●      Bedspread with Pillow Covers

●      Cushion Covers

●      Table Covers / Table Runners

●      Curtain

●      Wall Panel

●      Kitchen linen- Apron, gloves

Construct a line of selected design in each category for home furnishing with application of value addition such as quilting/patchwork/embroidery/tie-dye/block printing/ stencil printing /hand painting.

III. Preparation of cost sheets of developed Products.             6 hrs.
