M.A./M.Sc/M.Com Fashion & Textiles (Sem I)

Activity: Departmental PG Orientation Programme

Venue:   Draping Lab

Department of Fashion & Textiles organized an orientation programme exclusively for the students of M.A./M.Sc. /M.Com. Fashion Design Semester I on 16th July 2019. The orientation session was addressed by Dr. Radha Kashyap, Head, Dept. of Fashion and Textiles at IIS (deemed to be University) in the Draping Lab. She gave detailed information about the course structure with focus on credit system and its importance as per different papers. She also briefed students about the examination system with reference to Continuous Assessment (CA) and Semester End Examination (SEE) scheme, different activities conducted by the department, about infrastructure & metacampus account. She also introduced the students with faculty members who will be taking their various papers in the semester.  Ms. Garima Tiwari briefed the students about their timetable and concerned classrooms and  Dr. Vipin Kumari , discussed with the students about the good habits and what to do or not

Dr. Radha Kashyap ,also gave brief introduction of how various collections , that were made for previous annual fashion shows, their source of inspiration and a collective pictorial collection of glimpse of some rounds were also shown to them. In between , the students got the opportunity to interact with seniors that is Master Fashion Design  Sem III students. The senior students tried to make the new students comfortable and interacted with them. Sem III students conducted a quiz based on fashion industry in order to break the ice. It was an interesting session as both sem I and sem III students became comfortable and were very inquisitive about the same. At the end of the session, students filled the feedback form of the orientation programme.
