Report on “Saree Draping Competition”

Activity: Saree Draping Competition

Venue: Draping Lab

The Department of Fashion and Textile Technology organized a Saree Draping Competition on 27^th February 2017, at Draping Lab of the University. Students of BFT 4^th and 6^th Semester and MFT 4^TH Semester participated in the competition. Ms. Amandeep Kaur, Asst. Professor conducted the event.

Students had to drape the dress forms using a Saree. The time duration was 2 hours from 10:30 AM. The participants showcased different styles of saree draping of India viz. Gujarati, Bengali etc. Some students added contemporary look to their style in the drape of saree.

The judgment was done by Ms. Isheeta Chaturvedi, Additional Head & Asst. Professor and Ms. Sunetra Datt, Asst. Professor, Department of Fashion & Textile Technology. The criteria for judgment were style and overall appearance.

The winners of the competition were:

1^st position was awarded to Ms. Kritika Sharma (M.Sc. Fashion Technology SEM IV)  

2^nd position was awarded to Ms. Aditi Vyas (B.Sc. Fashion Technology SEM IV)  

3^rd position was awarded to Ms. Priyansha Gupta (B.Sc. Fashion Technology SEM IV)
