Report on “Value of the Worthless”

Activity:    Demonstration

The department of Fashion & Textile Technology conducted a Fashion Design Activityfor the student of Fashion Designing (COSD) on the topic “Value of the worthless” on 21.01.2017 in Clothing Lab. The resource person for the same was Ms DikshaPareek, Alumnai of The IIS University. The demonstration was focussed on making clutch purse for girls through waste paper box. Initially she pasted the box and kept one side open as desired, then she covered the box through waste fabric pieces and developed very beautiful clutch purses. She also brought some ready clutches with her which were prepared by her for the purpose of showingit to the students so that they can create & develop varieties.

Students learnt that how they can use waste paper box and waste fabrics in a very creative way. They also learnt the use of glue gun as an adhesive for designing purpose. They also enjoyed the demonstration and tried to make the clutch.

The students showed their keen interest by participating in the activity.The demonstration was very informative and the students learnt the techniques enthusiastically. This demonstration was very fruitful for the students as it helped them to create their own products in innovative style. Thirty two students participated in the demonstration.
