The Department of Fashion & Textiles organized a workshop on Make-up Basics on 22nd March 2024 at Vinayak Hall. The workshop aimed to provide essential knowledge and practical insights into various aspects of make-up application, catering to the diverse needs and preferences of the participants. Volunteer model for the session was Ms. Manavi Sharma, student of B.Sc Fashion Design Sem VI.

Objectives: The workshop focused on the following key objectives:

  1. Providing Product Knowledge: Understanding different make-up products, their uses, and suitable applications according to individual preferences and occasions.
  2. Demonstrating Daily Wear to Party Make-up Look: Offering insights into transitioning make-up from a casual daily look to a more glamorous party appearance.
  3. Offering Make-up Tips and Tricks: Tailoring advice to the participants' skin textures and types, ensuring personalized guidance for effective make-up application.
  4. Explaining Basic Make-up Theories: Introducing fundamental concepts and techniques essential for mastering make-up application.
  5. Emphasizing Skincare: Highlighting the significance of skincare as a foundation for flawless make-up and providing insights into skincare routines.

A total of 61 participants attended the workshop, eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in the realm of make-up application.

Workshop Overview: The workshop commenced with a warm welcome extended to all participants. Ms. Anshul Singh, a seasoned freelance make-up artist, served as the presenter for the session. She began by introducing herself and outlining the agenda for the workshop, ensuring clarity regarding the topics to be covered.

Session Highlights:

Product Knowledge: Ms. Anshul Singh provided comprehensive insights into various make-up products, including foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, lipstick, and more. Participants gained a deeper understanding of product selection based on skin type, tone, and desired outcomes.

Daily Wear to Party Make-up Look: Through live demonstrations, the resource person showcased the transformation of a simple, everyday make-up look into a glamorous party appearance. Participants observed techniques for accentuating features and creating a cohesive make-up ensemble suitable for different occasions.

Make-up Tips and Tricks: Tailoring her advice to individual participants, Ms. Singh shared invaluable tips and tricks for addressing common make-up challenges. From contouring to highlighting and blending techniques, participants received personalized guidance to enhance their skills.

Basic Make-up Theories: Fundamental concepts such as color theory, face shapes, and make-up application techniques were elucidated to provide participants with a strong foundation in make-up artistry.

Skincare: Emphasizing the importance of skincare, Mrs. Singh underscored the need for a healthy skincare routine as the basis for flawless make-up application. Participants learned about skincare products and practices essential for maintaining radiant skin.

Conclusion: The workshop concluded  with a vote of thanks extended to Ms. Anshul Singh  and to all participants for their active engagement. The session proved to be highly informative and enriching, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and skills in the realm of make-up basics.

Overall, the Department of Fashion & Textiles remains committed to organizing such workshops to foster learning and skill development among its students, ensuring their holistic growth and preparedness for the dynamic fashion industry.
