Objective: 
  1. To enhance the creative skills in  sketching and rendering for designing garments
  2. Introduce the concept of spec sheets and source fabric accordingly

 

Unit I: 
Course Content:

 

  • Illustrating garment details with flat  sketches                             16 hrs 
    • Pockets, Necklines & Collars
    • Sleeves & sleeve finishes
    • Darts, Gathers, Pleats, Yokes
    • Frills, Ruffles, Cowls, Smoking, Quilting & Shirring
    • Skirts- Skirt lengths (Micro Mini, Mini, Tea & Maxi)
    • Pants- Pants length (Shorts, Jamaica, Bermudas, Walking shorts, Capri, Regular & stretch pants
  • Drawing of block and stick figure – 8 ½, 10 ½ & 12½  (male and female)                                                                                                                      26 hrs
  • Fleshing of 8 ½, 10 ½ & 12½  (male and female figures)                                    
  • Drawing fashion figures (male and female) with different poses (Front, back, side, S,Z,X)

 

  • Style reading for various types of garments                                    10 hrs

    • Mood boards
    • Design boards
    • Client profile
    • Fabric swatch
    • Colour board
  • Designing male and female apparels for any two categories (Atleast 4 garments in each category)
