Objective: 

This course aims to impart in-depth knowledge of pattern making and garment construction techniques, enabling students to create fashion garments for both women and men.

Course Outcomes: 

CO100 Design, Draft & Adapt for men’s and women’s wear according to the need of apparel industry.

CO101 Develop patterns and construct garments with technical specifications according to the themes.

CO102 Compile comprehensive practical record and submission related to developed designs

CO103 Cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners.

  CO104 Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

CONTENT

 

I: Women’s wear: Develop FOUR designs and adapt the adult basic block according to the theme for each of the mentioned styles and construct ONE garment of each style                                                    (50 Hours)     

  • Party wear: Top and Skirt
  • Night wear: Yoke top with Shorts/Pyjama/Capri
  • Cocktail Dress: One Piece-dress
  • Analyse the fit of two constructed garments

II: Men’s Wear: Develop FOUR designs and adapt the adult basic block according to the theme for each of the mentioned styles and construct ONE garment of each style                                                                     (40 Hours)

  • Casual Wear: Bu-shirt with Trouser
  • Indo-western Party wear: Bengali Kurta with pyjama
