CO 3. Demonstrate an understanding of various types of fabric forming methods.

  • Yarn count, Yarn Numbering system (Direct and Indirect)
  • Blends: Types of blends and purpose of blending

  • Finishes affecting appearance and texture: Calendering, Napping, Stiffening, Parchmentization, Raising, Mercerization, Tentering
  • Finishes for enhancing special characteristics: Flame proofing, Soil & Stain Release, Water proof and water repellent, Crease Resistance, Sanforising
