The Students will be able to:

 CO.1  Apply knowledge through different colour mediums, layouts, repeats, placements techniques.

CO.2  Illustrate garment design details on a single screen by CAD.

CO.3  Appraise the application and manipulate the images through the import and export process.

CO.4  Analyse andinterpret various themes for developing textiles.

Approach in teaching:

Demonstrations, Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Informative videos

 

Learning activities for the students:

Self-learning assignments, CAD  sheet creation /Digital print product development

 

Assessment tasks will include Class Test, Semester end examinations, and Student presentations

●        Introduction to basic tools used in Design Software

Pick tool, shape tool, Zoom tool, Freehand tool, Smart tool, Rectangle, Ellipse, Graph paper,    Basic shapes, Text, Interactive, Eyedropper, Outline, Fill, Interactive fill tool, Grid & Rules setup, Page setup & Background, Transformation, Order, Power clip, Bitmaps, Writing tool, colour style, colour patterns etc.

o   Smocking, Quilting & Shirring,

o   Skirts- Skirt lengths (Micro Mini, Mini, Tea & Maxi)

o   Pants- Shorts, Jamaica, Bermudas, Walking shorts, Capri, Regular & stretch pants

o   Blouses, Shirts & Blazers, Jackets, Coats

●       Importing, saving and exporting images.

●        Creating design portfolio on theme working with motifs and repeat patterns:

o    Inspiration board

o    Motif creation

o    Motif repetition (using repeats)

o    Placement of pattern on garment in different layouts.
