Objective: 

This course will demonstrate basic commands and tools for professional 2D drawing, design, and drafting using CAD. It will also impart fashion designing skills through the use of designing software and Reach Fashion Studio.

 

Course Outcomes: 

CO 95 Analyze, interpret and develop various tools of CAD for designing using various software for apparel and accessories according to the fashion trends.

CO 96 Design and develop promotional tools for the industrial use.

CO 97 Compile comprehensive practical record and submission related to developed designs using CAD software.

CO 98 Cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners.

CO 99 Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

I: Introduction to designing software                                  (18 Hours)

  • Tools of designing software
  • Drawing 10 ½ & 12 ½ female croquis with grids and guidelines (Front, back, side, 3/4)
  • Stylization of nude figures,
  • Creating Illusion effects (silhouette, colour, texture and prints) by fashion details and draping it on fashion figures.
  • Drawing flat and spec sheets
  • Creating fashion accessories like handbags, footwear, headgears.

II: Illustrating manually Two apparel and accessories for female figure and creating the same through designing software                          (12 Hours)

III: Design the following promotional tools:                              (16 Hours)

  • Posters and Fliers
  • CD covers of fashion shows, music CD’s
  • Visiting cards and brochures for different occupations: Business, designer, caterers, photographer
  • Thematic backgrounds like corporate/ Board meeting room, hotel lounge, teller desk, party hall, beach, classroom, etc.
  • Scanning of documents and pictures.

IV: Reach Fashion Studio                                                                (14 Hours)

  • Introduction to the tools of Reach Fashion Studio
  • Creating theme-based range of 04 garments with accessories

Note: The creative sheets should be displayed in department exhibition.
