Creative Textiles

(Practical)

 

The Students will be able to:

 

  1. Explore different sources of inspiration for creative textile designing.
  2. Experiment with different fabric decoration techniques to create various effects
  3. Choose creative techniques for various product types.

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Informative videos

Learning activities for the students: Self-learning assignments, Design sheet preparation and product development

Assessment tasks will include Class Test, Semester end examinations, and Student presentations

 

CONTENTS

  • Exploration and Construction of samples using with different techniques using variety of material like different kinds of yarns, fibers, threads and ropes, ribbons, trimmings, paper, fabrics or any other such material for                                                                         40 hrs                                                                                        
  • Macrame
  • Knitting (Hand and Machine)
  • Crochet
  • Ribbon work

 

  • Product Development for any two articles related to (Apparel/ Home Textiles) using one or combination of the above mentioned techniques.                                                                                                                                                                                       20 hrs
