Objective: 

To develop skills of apparel designing through a project on garment designing for the fashion shows.

Unit I: 
Guidelines:

An individual line will be developed by the students on a theme approved by the mentor. The students will prepare a scrap book; portfolio. The portfolio must have the following contents:

  • Research on selected topic (Theme, Market, Forecast, Material, Style)
  • Conceptualization
  • Mood board
  • Story board
  • Theme board
  • Color Board
  • Swatch boards
  • Design Development (Doodles, Range development, Illustration, Flat sketches)
  • Write for Theme approved by the Mentor
  • Measurement ,Spec sheets, Cost sheets
  • Pattern Development & layout
  • Sample development by the different technique used for construction, finishing and value addition.
  • Accessories (Styling)
  • Photoshoot

 

It is mandatory to prepare patterns for all eight garments and construct at least two garments in appropriate fabric.

Further, it is required that each student is to outsource six garments.

 

Evaluation- Marks will be awarded on the basis of portfolio and final presentation of all nine garments duly approved by the mentor.
