Objective: 

This course will enable the students to-

1. Introduce the preparatory process of fabric.

2. Provide the knowledge of dyeing for different textile materials.

3. Provide comprehensive knowledge about the concept of various dyeing methods.

The students will be able to 

CO 1. Explain the preparatory process of fabric.

CO 2. Select dyes as per the type of fabrics. 

CO 3 Identify various dyeing methods used in the Industry.

CO 4. Evaluate colour fastness of various dyes.

CO 5. To understand the importance of market and trends and enhance observational skills

CO 6. Development of  products with various dyeing techniques.

CO 7. Summarize the Textile dyeing industrial functional aspects.

Approach in teaching: Demonstration, Interactive workshops, Powerpoint presentations, Relevant videos, Market visit, Survey and Field visits to relevant Textile Dyeing unit.

  • Collection and study of various fabric dyed textile samples       10 hrs                          

           Patola, Ikat, Pochampalli, Bandhani 

  • Product development for home textiles/dress material through any of the above mentioned dyeing technique                                      20 hrs                         
  • Industry Visit                                                                                  10 hrs
