Unit I: 
Course Content:
  • Textile Designing                                                                         14 hrs
  • Collection of various textiles in terms of motifs and its repeats(Straight, Drop, Brick, Mirror, One way, two ways)
  • Motif development and different types of placements
  • Preparation of design sheet for placement of motif 

 

  • Introduction to Weaves                                                                12 hrs
  • Collection of fabric, identification and demonstration of different weaves(Plain, Twill, Satin and derivatives)

 

  • Prepare Sample using following techniques                             24 hrs
  • Free hand painting
  • Tie and Dye 
  • Batik
  • Stencil printing
  • Block printing

 

  •  Preparation of Stole/Scarf (using any two of the above mentioned techniques). Finish the article using any one of the following trims                                                                                                            10 hrs 
  • Lace
  • Beads
  • Fringes
