The students will be able to –

CO 67 Construct basic blocks and their relation to human body.

CO 68 Create pattern making skill to achieve specific outcomes.

CO 69 Develop an understanding of pattern making techniques for construction of specific garments.

CO 70 Adapt various types of Collars, Sleeves & Leg wear

 CO 71 Adapt Bodice to develop patterns for different sizes

CONTENTS

I: Pattern making                                                                     12 hrs

  • Introduction of pattern making technique: Drafting, Flat Pattern and Draping
  • Drafting of adult basic Bodice, Skirt, Sleeve and Trouser block

 

II: Dart manipulation for bodice                                                     22 hrs

  • Dart Displacement (Slash, spread method & Pivot method)
  • Dart Concealment
  • Added fullness
  • Decorative Darts

III: Adaptation                                                                              22 hrs

  • Sleeves: Raglan, Kimono, Dolman, Magyar & Bishop
  • Collars- Shawl &Rever collar
  • Skirt with Yokes- A-Line, gathered, panel and circular
  • Leg wears- Salwar, Culottes, Parallel Pants, Fitted trousers/ Wide-  leg trousers

IV: Construct the following garments using the above adaptations.         20 hrs

  • Top with sleeves/ Collars
  • Saree blouse
  • Leg wear

V: Grading                                                                                     14 hrs

  • Methods of grading- Tracks and Stack Method
  • Grading of adult basic bodice, sleeve, skirt & Trouser block
