   GARMENT

   MAKING -III

The students will be able to

CO71.Develop basic child and adult bodice and sleeve blocks from measurement charts.

CO72.Construct various samples of garment components.

CO73.Experiment with child patterns for adaptations.

CO74.Create various garments using garment details and basic blocks.

Approach in teaching: Interactive Lectures, Discussion, PowerPoint Presentations, Informative videos and demonstration.

Learning activities for the students: Self-learning assignments, and development of products.

 

 

Assessment tasks will include Class Test on the given topics, labswork, record book assessment,

Viva-voce, Attendance Assignment

 

CONTENT:

I: Drafting of Basic Blocks                                          10 hrs.          

  • Bodice Blocks                                                                                                         
  • Child’s and Adult’s Bodice Block
  • Sleeve Block                                                                                                  
  • Child’s Sleeve and Adult’s Sleeve Block
  • Skirt Block

II: Pattern making & stitching                                40 hrs.

  • Necklines: Round, Square, V, Scalloped, Heart shape
  • Sleeves: Plain, Puff, Bell, Kimono
  • Collars: Peter pan, Shirt Stand or Chinese, Swinging or Roll,
  • Yokes: Round, V-Shaped and Shaped on (bodice & skirt blocks)

III. Product Development                                       10 hrs.

Incorporate the above mentioned garment making detail techniques and to make A-line dress for a 2 year old girl.
