CO111. Differentiate the production technique of handloom

CO112. Familiarize the concept of handloom in contemporary apparel

Approach teaching in :Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Power Point Presentations, Informative videos

Learning activities for the students:Self-learning assignments,report writing (Detailed document) and display presentation

  • Students are expected to select any Indian handloom and prepare a report. Information can be collected on the following for report making:
  • Evolution/ History                                                                               
  • Raw Material
  • Tools and Techniques
  • Production Process
  • Visuals that depict the handloom textile (Following methods can be used to collect visuals: Old magazines/ Internet/ Local markets/ Government Emporiums/ Handloom Fairs/ Photographs)
  • Survey and reporting of application of selected textile in contemporary apparel
