Objective: 

This course will enable the students to -

  1. Give an insight and input about the various aspects of the History of the Indian costumes from the ancient times onwards.
  2. Learn about the importance and relevance of Indian costumes of different states as an inspiration for design creations.

The Students will be able to:

CO.254 Record the evolution costume in Indus valley civilizations and Vedic period.

CO.255 Evaluate different styles and special features in costume of Mauryan & Satavahana period.

CO.256 Differentiate the ancient costumes of Kushan, Gupta, Mughal and British Period.

CO.257 Recognize the Indian historical costumes with reference to fabrics, motifs and accessories.

CO.258 Comply knowledge about regional costumes of Indian states

CO.259 Interpret special features of traditional textiles with reference to various periods.
