Objective: 

This course will enable the students to -

1.     Apply measurements and body proportions to create accurate garment patterns.

2.     Analyze different pattern-making methods, drafting, flat pattern and draping techniques.

3.     Evaluate and adjust patterns to ensure accurate garment fit and enhance design aesthetics.

CO.36 Understand the fundamentals terms such as fabric structure, sewing terms and preparation of fabric for apparel construction.

·       Common terms: Seam allowance, Pattern, Grading, Notch, stay stitching, Yoke, Gusset Tools and equipment required for measuring, drafting, pinning, marking and cutting, sewing, pressing

·       Preparation of fabric for clothing construction-shrinking, straightening, layout, marking and cutting of patterns
