DEPARTMENT OF FASHION AND TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY

Visit to a Manufacturing Unit

Department of Fashion & Textile Technology organized an Industrial Visit to “Baba Garments” Sanganer, Jaipur for the students of B.Sc. Fashion Technology Semester III and Garment production and Export Management Semester V on 27th August, 2016 under the supervision of Mr. Purushottam, Managing Director, Baba Garments.

Baba Garments, a manufacturing unit which specializes in embroidered salwar suits and kurtis. Students got the opportunity to learn the designing process from concept to final product. They were introduced to different processes which are required for completion of a garment. Student gained knowledge about different types of fabrics, pattern making, sample making, cutting, garment construction and finishing of the same. The students were also shown the different Hand embroideries at the unit.

The visit was conducted with an aim to give the students an insight into the working process of a manufacturing unit. 17 students visited the unit and found the activity highly informative and useful.
