Description :
Department of Fashion & Textiles had celebrated “HANDLOOM DAY” on 7th August, 2020 to keep the textile heritage alive and create awareness of Handloom fabrics. This day is celebrated for the integrity of handloom community and recognize their contribution towards India's Socio-Economic development. The purpose of the activity was to protect the heritage and to empowerment of the workers in handloom sectors. Students of the B.Sc. Fashion Design ,semester –III participated in the activity and they used the handloom fabrics and sarees in a new customize style to create a different look .
Outcome of the activity: The students were able to understand the textiles of different states interms of printing, weaving and surface embellishment. So that they can use the traditional textiles into the customize products according the present market demand.
