Activity: Orientation Programme for B.Sc. Fashion Design -Semester I and M.A. /M.Sc. /M.Com. Fashion Design-Semester-I

Department of Fashion & Textiles organized an orientation programme exclusively for the students of B.Sc. Fashion Design Semester I and M.A./ M.Sc./ M.Com Fashion Design Semester I on 6st September 2022. It began at 9:30 am. All the students were welcomed with the Tika moli and the introductory session began wherein Professor, Radha Kashyap, Head, Department of Fashion & Textiles welcomed the students.
The objective was to orient the students regarding the course structure with the focus on Faculty profile, Departmental website, Structure of Course Curricular, Subject wise credits, Programme outcome, Learning Outcome, Time-table, Scheme of examination, Assessment & Evaluation pattern, Location of the department, Classes, Infrastructure, Labs, Library system and online access, Departmental Activities/ Calendar, Best practices of the department, Placement and many more.
Dr. Radha Kashyap, Head, Dept. of Fashion & Textiles, started the orientation by welcoming the students. Then she briefed about the faculty profile and department website. It was followed by Dr. Amandeep Kaur giving the brief knowledge about structure of the course curricula and subject wise credits were discussed. Dr. Vipin Kumari then explained the Programme outcome and Learning outcome of all the subjects. It was followed by Ms Garima Tiwari explaining about the working of Time table. Dr. Sulekha Ojha explained the scheme of the examination and assessment & Evaluation pattern to the students. Dr. Sunetra Datt acquainted the students with the location of the department and lab infrastructure. Then Ms. Neetu Saini gave the information regarding the Library system and its online access. She made the students register on the online portal and cleared their doubts. Ms. Harshita Bhown proceeded further by explaining the various activities that the department conducts on the regular basis and also the about the activity calendar which is prepared before the session begins. Then Dr. Radha Kashyap spoke about the best practices of the department and then concluded by telling about the student councils and the process of being a part of it.
The programme proceeded further with the Alumnae interaction. Ms. Surbhi Jain was invited as the guest speaker. She is an entrepreneur. She owns a brand named FarQ. She interacted with the students. She told about her brand and the motivation behind it. She even encouraged students to start their own labels and explained its working.
The ice-breaking activities were then organized for the students by the student council. It included fun-filled activities and games. Students were excited and full of energy.
There were 18 students of B.Sc. Fashion Design semester-I and 4 students of M.A./ M.Sc. M.Com Fashion design Semester- I. In the end queries were answered and students filled in the feedback form.
The programme was concluded with the campus visit in which students were taken for the departments/classroom/labs visit.
