The Department of Fashion & Textiles Technology conducted a guest lecture on” Power Image Building and Women Entrepreneurship " in the A.V.Hall on 14.08.15 by an Image Consultant and soft skill trainer Ms. Shalini Bhargava.

Power Image Building is all about carrying oneself with grace and élan in body language, expressions, gestures and soft skills. The resource person, Ms.Shalini Bhargava, emphasized on building & enhancing love, respect, confidence in oneself & thereby derive self- worth and satisfaction by the end of the day. These qualities can be focused and addressed by pursuing one's heart, talents & skills with conviction and passion. once you identify and tap your passion to full extent, it can be transformed into a potential self-employment/profession.

Entrepreneurship in your likeable area can be a very  viable option for balancing domestic and business needs. The resource person, Ms.Shalini Bhargava, quoted examples, showed slides of some renowned women entrepreneurs in India/world who have carved a niche in today's competitive environment with their out - of -the-box start-ups.

 The resource person also gave the audience a little insight into entrepreneurship environment in India, government subsidies/incentives provided to women entrepreneurs, various short-term courses offered by different institutions on women entrepreneurship development.

Over all, the resource person was able to infuse motivation and encouragement in students to take up start-up ventures in their arena of expertise and skill acquired.

An interactive "queries and reply" session marked the summation of the lecture. About fifty students and faculty members of The Department of Fashion & Textiles Technology attended and were empowered with the lecture.
