Name of the Department: Fashion & Textiles
Name of the Activity: Industrial Visit
Date: 25th September 2025
Venue: Anayna Textiles and Labesh Textiles
Timings: 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
No. of Participants: 21 students (B.Sc. Fashion Design (Sem V), M.Sc. (Sem I)
Objective of the visit: The main objective of the visit was to provide students practical exposure and understanding of different types of fabric printing techniques and garment production process from concept to final product.
Summary/Description: Anayna Textiles is a leading manufacturer and exporter of handmade block-printed, screen-printed, and both hand and machine embroidered women’s wear. The unit primarily works with various types of cotton, rayon and silk fabrics to produce garments such as casual wear, anarkali sets, short kurta sets, co-ord sets, tops, and skirts.
Students were guided by Ms. Varsha, Designer and Merchandiser at Anayna Textiles, who briefed them about different departments such as Pattern Making, Fabric Layering, Cutting, Bundling, Stitching, Finishing, Pressing, and Packaging. She explained each stage of garment manufacturing — from grey fabric to finished garments — while showing samples like kurtis, skirts, dresses, and tops. Further students learnt the technique of operating machine embroidery, and process of doing block printing.
Then the students visited Labesh Textiles, a leading manufacturer and wholesale exporter of handmade and automatic flatbed screen-printed fabrics. Here, they learned about flat screen printing, automatic flat screen printing, and dyeing techniques. The visit was fruitful as it gave exposure to advanced technologies used in the field of fabric printing.
Students were guided by Ms. Nisha Khatri, who explained the various steps involved in textile production — from grey fabric to finished fabric. She elaborated on the functions and importance of dyeing and printing, and discussed stages such as scouring, bleaching, calendaring, printing, curing, washing, and drying, along with the machines used in each process.
We are thankful to Ms. Anjana Gurjar, Founder of Anayna Textiles, and Mr. Krishnam, Founder of Labesh Textiles, for allowing our students the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on learning experience.
Outcome of the Visit: The visit provided students with firsthand knowledge of the process involved in fabric printing and garment manufacturing. Through practical exposure, students were able to connect theoretical concepts with real-world industrial practices. Students found the experience highly informative, enriching, and beneficial for their academic learning.
