Objective of the activity: To interact students with alumina and to developed the entrepreneurship skills and career opportunities in fashion industry.

Activity description: The Department of Fashion & Textiles organized an interactive session, “Talk Show” for the students of Fashion & Textiles. The objective was to guide the students about career and entrepreneurship skill in the field of fashion.

 

The three speakers for the talk show were:

 

  1. Ms.Eshita Bakotia. She did M.Com. in Fashion Design from IIS University in the year 2019. Presently she is running three brands, namely The Burnt Soul, Mira and Musk Meadows that works in cottons prints and specializes in ethnic wear.

 

 

 

  1. Ms.Mitali Patni.  She did B.Sc. in Fashion Design from IIS University in the year 2017 and Diploma in Styling from London. She runs her brand naming Vaibhav & Mitali that works in high fashion and bridegroom collections.
  2. Ms. Stuti Gupta. She completed her B.Sc. in Fashion Design from IIS University in the year 2018. She runs her brand named Enthrall, a fusion of ethnic and contemporary wear.

 

The alumina shared their journey from being as a student to a successful entrepreneur. They shared the concepts of inspiration, product design ideas, entrepreneurship skills and its application in the fashion industry. They also shared their industrial internship experience highlighted its importance. They guided how to design creative strategies for product lines according to fashion trends and fashion forecasting. They shared various exhibitions and retailing concept in which they participated and the challenges in the beginning of their career.

The students interacted with the alumina. They shared their how a designer would be able to make predicting consumer trends and identify target consumer market.

Learning outcomes of the activity: Students got an opportunity to interacted with alumina and were motivated to start their own venture.
