Department of Fashion & Textiles had organized a visit to Megha Overseas (Export House) on 10th December, 2021 to make the students aware about production processes in Apparel Unit.  They are developing wide range of garments such as printed and embroidered kurtis, kids frocks, shirts etc Production involves many series of processes starting with the design concept, placement, marking, cutting, sampling, sewing, finishing (extra thread and spot removal, measurement checking) ironing, packaging and shipment. Computerized embroidery machines are used to produce a complex and lengthy design for kurtis. They are at present exclusively exporting to International buyers from Japan.

They are also producing and selling for online portal like- Amazon, Flipkart, Alibaba and Meesho by the name Gianna.

Megha Gupta was the resource person and she is also our alumnae. She is overall co-ordinating the business and specially focused on online portal and marketing.

Outcome of the activity:

The students were able to understand the machineries and processes of different departments of Apparel manufacturing unit. This visit help them to relate various aspects of curriculum like design, sampling, production and finishing etc. They can now correlate the content of the syllabi more efficiently.
